Home Fix Neighbor helps people get through a home emergency safely: what to do right now, what happens next, and how to find a good local pro. The host of our videos is our founder, and every video is written and checked by a person.
How we check our advice
Every safety fact comes from a trusted source, such as a government safety agency, a building code or the equipment maker, and we're adding a second independent source to every safety fact. Each source is linked right where we use it. We re-check our pages at least once a year. When a licensed professional has reviewed a page, their name and license number are shown at the top.
If it's ever dangerous (gas, electrical, fire, carbon monoxide), we never give repair steps. We tell you to get out and call for help.
How we pick local pros
Before a company is listed, we check its license and insurance, read its reviews and talk with the owner. Companies don't get listed just because they pay. Paid spots are always labeled "Sponsor".
